Privacy Policy
At NutriSwitch (Lange Voorhout 92, The Hague), we are committed to sustainably improving health through orthomolecular therapy and nutritional guidance. In doing so, we process personal data. This privacy policy explains which data we collect, for what purposes, how we use and protect it, and how we handle cookies when you visit our website or make use of our services.
To provide our services, we require different types of information. Contact details such as your name, telephone number, email address, and, where applicable, postal address are necessary for communication and for scheduling appointments.
As we specialise in orthomolecular therapy, we process specific health-related data that is relevant for the development of personalised nutritional advice. This includes your current health concerns and objectives, relevant aspects of your medical history, information about current medication and supplements, your dietary habits, and any known intolerances, as well as key lifestyle factors.
In addition, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our website, such as your IP address (anonymised), browser details, and other aggregated visitor statistics.
Why we use this data
We process your personal data exclusively for the purpose of providing our services. This includes the preparation of personalised nutritional advice based on your individual situation, the planning, and delivery of consultations, and the provision of follow-up guidance throughout your health trajectory.
For communication purposes, we use your data to respond to enquiries by email or telephone, to send confirmations and appointment-related information, and to share relevant health-related information where you have given your consent to do so.
As a healthcare provider, we are also subject to statutory obligations, including the retention of medical records in accordance with the Dutch Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO) and compliance with administrative requirements.
Legal basis for data processing
We process your data based on several legal grounds. Processing that is necessary for the provision of our services is based on the performance of an agreement with you. For the improvement of our services, we rely on a legitimate interest. For newsletters and other marketing communications, you may unsubscribe at any time (opt-out). The retention of medical records is based on statutory obligations.
The processing of health-related data is not primarily based on consent; such processing takes place within the context of healthcare provision and the performance of a treatment agreement as defined under the WGBO.
Sharing of data
We do not share your data with third parties, except in very limited circumstances. For technical support services, such as website hosting and email infrastructure, we work with trusted service providers under strict data processing agreements. We never sell your data to commercial parties.
Retention periods
We retain contact details and health-related data for a maximum period of twenty years, in accordance with the requirements of the WGBO. Unless you request earlier deletion, or retention is necessary to provide appropriate care, or where another compelling interest applies as defined under the WGBO. Technical data is retained for a maximum period of two years.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. These include the use of encrypted backups, restricting access to personal data to authorised personnel only, and regularly applying security updates to our systems.
Your rights
You have various rights regarding your personal data. You may request access to the data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your data subject to statutory retention obligations, request restriction of processing, request the transfer of your data to another healthcare provider, object to certain types of processing, and withdraw previously given consent. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
Cookie Policy
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by our website to ensure proper functionality and to improve your user experience.
Which cookies we use
We distinguish between different categories of cookies and analytics tools, each with its consent requirements.
Functional and technical cookies are placed automatically, as they are essential for the operation of our website. These include cookies from our GDPR Cookie Compliance plugin that store cookie preferences, hosting, and security cookies that protect the website, and session cookies that maintain your browser session.
Analytical cookies and tools are only placed after explicit consent via our cookie banner. Google Analytics 4 provides anonymised insights into website usage, with IP anonymisation enabled and short retention periods applied. This tool is only loaded after you have given consent.
We use Hotjar to gain insight into how visitors experience the website, such as where users stop scrolling or which elements receive the most attention. This is done fully anonymously and only with prior consent. Like Google Analytics, Hotjar is only activated after explicit approval by the visitor. Google Tag Manager (GTM) is used solely for managing scripts.
An exception is Clicky Analytics, which operates without cookies and tracks visitor statistics without storing personal data. As this tool does not place cookies and does not collect personal data, it is loaded by default.
Cookies from third parties
In some cases, we embed content from third parties such as YouTube or Vimeo for informational videos. These parties may place their cookies, over which we have no control.
Managing your cookie preferences
You can manage your cookie preferences in several ways. Via our website, you may use the cookie banner displayed on your first visit or adjust your preferences through the link at the bottom of each page.
You can also manage cookies directly through your browser settings. In Google Chrome, this can be found under Settings, Privacy and security, Cookies and other site data. Firefox users can find these options under Settings, Privacy & Security, Cookies and Site Data. Safari users will find them under Preferences, Privacy, Cookies, and Website Data. In Microsoft Edge, go to Settings, Cookies, and Site Permissions.
Disabling cookies may have certain consequences. Disabling functional cookies may prevent the website from functioning properly. Disabling analytical cookies means we are less able to improve the website based on usage data. Disabling marketing cookies may result in less relevant content.
Cookies and health data
We never use cookies to store sensitive health-related data. All medical information is stored securely within our protected systems and is never saved in cookies on your device.
